Senior/Principal:
The Submarine Test & Systems Engineering (STSE) group
provides life-cycle support to deployed Maneuvering Area
Team Trainers and Virtual trainers deployed at several
Naval Submarine bases around the country and Guam as
well as the Prototype Interactive Display Equipment
(PIDE) trainers located on the Kesselring Site. These
trainers provide the latest simulation technology in
support of training our Nuclear Operators within the
Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. With the significant
increase in simulation products being delivered to the
Fleet, a corresponding increase in the amount of support
for those trainers is required. STSE also performs
testing on the training equipment for new software
releases prior to deploying those releases to the Sites.
An Electrical Engineering position is available to
support existing trainers in the following areas:
implementation of ship alterations and engineering field
changes, spare parts management, part obsolescence,
trainer upgrades, technology refresh, trainer
troubleshooting and repair, and new design. The person
in this position will be the hardware lead for one of
the many training platforms STSE supports and will
oversee all aspects of the work on the pre-production
unit for that platform including safety. This position
will also be responsible for interfacing with the
Resident Engineers at each site, contract departments,
site warehouse, crafts, vendors, finance, and with the
other simulation and training organizations. This
position also entails the troubleshooting and repair of
broken equipment and equipment redesign for obsolete
components. Some travel to Naval Submarine bases will be
required
Requirements:
Senior:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of six years of relevant
experience; or
MS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of four years of relevant
experience.
Principal:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of nine years of relevant
experience; or
MS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of seven years of relevant
experience.
