Electrical Engineering Technician 2 Flux Location: Washington, Vancouver Description Flux is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician 2 to join our project team onsite with our client in Vancouver, WA. This position provides technical support directed toward the implementation of systems, tools, and processes that help achieve higher data fidelity and integrity in power system models. Position Responsibilities include: With oversight and approval from the Manager: Formulate and apply various power flow modeling techniques and other methods to develop and interpret information that assists engineers and system dispatchers with decision making. Run powerflow, voltage stability, and transient stability simulations to determine power system performance under a range of possible load, generation, and topology conditions. Observe and analyze real time operational data and use the collected information to update powerflow base cases. Process and analyze power system load, generation and topology information, both historic and forecasted, as they apply to various and WECC transmission paths. Assist Management with the development and/or modification of PowerFlow base cases. Verify that information in the base case is accurate for the time period being studied. Such information includes facility ratings, topology and load. Prepare technical reports, such as study reports, credible contingencies reports, voltage and line loading limits write ups and base case alignment findings. Monitor the "Real Time Studies" email for inquiries coming from Peak RC on short range outage study issues; route them to the correct Study Engineer for response. Position Requirements: Education/Experience: Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field preferred. (Associates degree can be substituted for 2 years required experience - see below). Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is highly desirable (Bachelor's degree can substitute for 4 years related experience - see below). In lieu of a Bachelors Degree, 4 years experience credit can be granted if candidate has completed at least 40 semester hours in any combination of the following subjects/fields: Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Electrical and Electronic Circuits, Materials Science, Transport Phenomena or Computer Science. NOTE: Resume content must list minimum 40 semester hours in the subjects/fields listed to substitute the credit hours for a portion of experience. Provide a list of the specific course work/classes being claimed as "qualifying", including a list of specific hours for each class and the name of the education institution where the classes were taken. Please provide a crosswalk or reference in the education/experience portion of the qualifications matrix that points back to the coursework information provided in the resume. Related Experience - a minimum combination of directly-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training is desired. Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of Electrical Engineering. Associates or Bachelor's degree can be substituted for a portion of the experience requirements, as noted previously. Minimum Experience Requirements: This is a Level 2 position: 5-9 years previous related experience which pr
