Senior Electrical Engineer needed for a full-time contract opportunity in the Arden Hills, MN area. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will be responsible for responsible for FPGA development in support of product teams developing and improving Electronic Medical Equipment (EME) products. The ideal candidate will have experience in the creation, simulation, validation, and integration of programmable logic into a targeted FPGA embedded in a broad range of systems and interfaces. Responsibilities for the Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Design, develop, debug, modify, and test designs by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.

  • Engage in all phases of product development, including concept, architecture, design, and test.

  • Carry out programmable logic development, timing closure, verification, board level integration and validation.

  • Interface with HW, FW, and SW engineers to test and verify electrical interfaces and protocols between the FPGA and embedded system devices.

Requirements for the Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering: Bachelors with 5-10 year experience Or Masters with 3-8 year experience.

  • Sufficient knowledge of Xilinx FPGA products and development environments, including experience with the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite and exposure to legacy ISE tools.

  • Expertise in laboratory debug techniques, including proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and related equipment.

  • Design experience with standard interfaces and protocols (e.g., SPI, Flash, and SDRAM) as well as fundamental understanding of digital board level electrical interfaces, including ADCs, DACs, Flash and SDRAM.

  • Travel can be up to 10-20% to BSC divisions and suppliers.
