Leidos NATSC Electrical Engineer Manager in NEWPORT, Rhode Island
Job Description: The Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) is the depot-level repair activity for US Navy surface ship and submarine towed sonar arrays. It is a Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO) facility located at the Navy Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, and Naval Station Newport, in Newport RI. The successful candidate will be the Contractor Engineering Manager of the NATSC towed array depot leading a group of engineers and technicians. (Currently unfunded.) As such they will: 1. Prioritize the investigation and resolution of trouble reports received from Operations and Facilities related to IPE (industrial plant equipment) and jigs, tools, and fixtures (JTF). 2. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair JTF and IPE as required. 3. As part of the plan to transition new products into the repair line(s), generate JTF and infrastructure requirements necessary to insure compliance with applicable technical documents. 4. Monitor facility cleanliness and storage and the material/operating condition of installed industrial plant equipment (IPE). Initiate action to resolve discrepancies. 5. Be responsible to the program manager for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in an engineering or leadership/ management related discipline and ten or more years of professional experience. 2. Must be able to obtain and retain a US DOD security clearance at the SECRET level. 3. Five or more year’s prior experience in a leadership in US Government DOD projects and direct liaison with Government customers. 1. Prior experience in direct liaison with Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport on matters related to towed array systems. 2. Prior experience using NDA (NATSC Depot Application), TAMS (Towed Asset Management System), and/or Master Control (Process/Document Management System). 3. Prior experience in electronics repair/engineering-related activities (operation, testing/troubleshooting, and component-level repair; US Navy Class C School or technical school graduate in electronics) or equivalent training. Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
