Job Description

BAE Systems Advanced Microwave Products (AMP) Center is looking for a Microwave Test Engineer to join our fast-paced and growing business. The BAE Systems AMP Center develops next generation GaAs, GaN, and SiGe integrated circuit technologies, engineers industry-leading products using these technologies, and delivers these solutions in volume to customers in all branches of our armed services.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible of supporting Technicians and Engineering Assistant that work within the test organization. This person will also support new development of new test capability that is needed to support both existing programs and future programs. Also will work in conjunction with peers and the Test Manager to assure that we have the correct test equipment and expendables to assure that work coming in to the test area can be completed. This individual will also be expected to perform assigned testing tasks for the program involving either module hardware and possibly on-wafer testing of complex die.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • AS9100 Experience

  • Abilities and experience in formal design of test capability for RF, Microwave and Millimeterwave hardware using state of the are test equipmnet

  • Test automation experience or sufficient higher level object oriented programming skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Self-starter, able to not only perform assigned tasks, but assist when issues come up with the any of testing functions that occur using state of the art test equipment.

Preferred Skills and Education

System integration and test on a test platform that used Microwave and Millimeterwave test equipment with a software platform using Visual Studio.NET.

Experience with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies such as Six Sigma

Abilities and experience in formal on-wafer testing of DOD-related processes and procedures as well as relevant DoD Requirements, directive and policies.

Coursework in Microwave Design.
