Job Description:

Performs a variety of complex engineering duties to design, plan, and oversee the design and development of electric/electronic devices and systems applied to new or existing products . Evaluates progress and results of projects. Recommends changes in design, procedures or objectives as necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops concept and circuit designs for engine control, electronic motor control, & battery powered products

  • Performs computer-based component, circuit, and system simulation to prove out design performance and compliance with product specifications

  • Develops electrical component and electrical system specifications, validation plans and test standards

  • Prepares control algorithms and participates in the development of embedded software and control hardware

  • Leads, and participates in, design reviews

  • Leverages data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions

  • Provides technical support for existing products and/or product improvement projects

  • Acts as an active liaison in a cross-functional product development environment

  • Participates in the New Product Development process as it pertains to Concept Analysis, Business Case, Product Development, as well as pre and post production activities

  • Designs and troubleshoots electrical/electronic assemblies and systems

  • Recommends methods of manufacturing during the design of new products, design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Skill Requirement

  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design

  • Experience with the test and validation process for electronic and software-based products

  • Experience with embedded electronic development tools and methodology

  • Experience with appropriate standards and the compliance process

  • Strong knowledge and use of electrical/electronic control circuits and systems

  • Strong understanding of microprocessor controllers

  • Comprehensive knowledge of appropriate standards and regulations

  • Knowledge of power electronics devices

  • Understanding of heat-transfer and thermal protection in power electronics systems

  • Well-developed understanding of internal combustion engines and related products

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience Requirements:

  • Five years of professional engineering experience
