General Summary

The Electrical Engineering Technician will work closely with the multi discipline engineering team and is responsible for the wiring and testing of new products under the guidence of the Electrical Engineering Specialist and the Engineering Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing cabinet wiring systems to meet customer demands/expectations.

  • Work as part of the development team, and liaise closely with the electrical specialist, mechanical engineers and technicians

  • Carry out site installations, fault finding and repair

  • Wire and test development products and ensure compliance with all electrical standards, regulations and produce test reports.


  • HND Qualificiation required in an Electrical field with 5 years of related work experience

Skills Required

Include demonstrated competencies and physical, mental & interpersonal skills:

  • 5+ years electrical systems installation

  • Experience with NICEIC software, certificates, membership requirements

  • Experience completing Electrical Installation Certificates as detailed in BS7671

  • Fault finding and rectification

  • Level three craft certificate in electrical installation

  • C&G 2391 Inspection & testing or full equivalent

  • 17th Edition

  • Experience programming and interrogating electronic devices using various protocols

  • Cabinet/Panel Wiring installation

  • The ability to follow technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams

  • Knowledge of electrical safe isolation procedure and safe working practices

  • General electrical testing and awareness of required legislation

  • The ability to work carefully, methodically and safely

  • Planning and organisational skills

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Good housekeeping skills

  • Working with others as a team
