MTEQ is seeking an Electrical Engineer with extensive knowledge and strong communication skills to join our team of well qualified, diverse individuals at our Fort Belvoir, VA Office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: The job function involves the design and development of Opto-Mechanical Sensor Systems for commercial and government applications. The candidate will be an Electrical Engineer and will work as part of a dynamic team of multi-disciplinary engineers in support of the Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD). A specialty in micro-electronics design and engineering is desired, with skills in using OrCAD PSpice Designer® or similar design applications. Duties will additionally include laboratory work conducting measurements and experiments, and field work in various locations throughout the continental United States. Qualified candidates should have a great attitude and work ethic, and be eager to learn and succeed.


  • Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • 3-5 years of relevant industry work experience, or internships, co-operative education work assignments

  • Practical and experience in electrical design, operations of IR, acoustic and other sensors, familiar with RF circuit design

  • CAD experience (OrCAD PSpice Designer┬«)

  • Familiarity with industry design standards, codes, and regulations

  • Ability to travel for several weeks at a time


  • Master of Science, Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university desired

  • Ability and skill to design, program, and integrate micro-controllers

  • Ability and skill to program software


  • Ability to obtain Security clearance preferred.

  • Active Security Clearance a plus
