Scope of Position :
EE intern will be assigned to an active project working for one or more of the experienced EE’s in the Department.
Day to Day Responsibilities :
Assist in maintaining and updating the plant power system.
Update the power systems study to document available fault currents and arc flash energies and apply associated hazard labeling.
Review power system protective coordination settings and implement necessary changes. Work will include use of Power Systems analysis software.
Select power sources for new projects by reviewing available capacity, power outage requirements, and circuit routing.
Oversee new circuit installations and ensure one-lines and panel schedules reflect modifications.
Communicate ideas and project status clearly and professionally through graphic and written media, and oral presentations.
Provide necessary documentation of activities, results, assignments.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time : Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; some flexibility for off hours support may be required.
•Working on a BS in Electrical Engineering Required.
•Currently attending at least Sophomore year of college
•Self-motivated, independent, flexible, quick learner, listens and follows instructions and provides constructive feedback
•Excellent computer skills (working knowledge and application of Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Acrobat, and able to quickly learn Power systems analysis software used by the company as well as AutoCad)
•Ability to build effective working relationships with others
•Strong organizational skills
•Ability to multi-task and deliver results on given assignments by assigned due dates
•Willing to spend large amounts of time in a factory environment potentially on different shifts on occasion as dictated by project requirements
•Knowledge of basic electrical power engineering concepts and safe work methods
•Prior work experience is a plus
