The Sustainability Technologies team is looking for a research engineer with experience in data acquisition and control systems applied to next-generation magnetic systems. The ideal candidate has a track record of high precision data collection using magnetometry technology, including induction, Hall-effect, fluxgate, SQUID or optical sensors. Experience measuring temperature, pressure, voltage, current and displacement are also valued. Knowledge of device sensitivity to the ambient physical environment and impact on measurement error is important. A functional understanding of power supplies and actuation systems is useful.

The location site for this position will be Broomfield CO.

YOU MUST HAVE

•US. Citizenship to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

•Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field

•Significant years of electromagnetic system development or analysis experience

WE VALUE

•PhD or Masters degree

•Practice working with superconducting magnet systems

•Design, analysis, measurement and/or operation of magnetic systems

•Track record of fundamental physical investigations that utilize electromagnetic systems

•Experience with analytical and numerical methods to evaluate electromagnetic field homogeneity

•Proficiency in a computer aided modeling software package for solid model creation

•Exposure to the design and/or operation of closed and open cryogenic systems

•Strong organizational, leadership and negotiation skills with customers and colleagues

•Additional experience beyond the minimum required

•Excellent written and oral communication skills
