Candidate will be a Facilities Electrical Engineer that is self-motivated to produce quality improvements and innovative engineering support within the group. The Engineering duties of the group are demanding with growing focus on safety, incident elimination and equipment maintenance. The Facilities Electrical engineer will focus on electrical engineering projects including backup generator controls systems.
Design electrical systems, coordinate electrical projects, estimate electrical costs, and inspect electrical systems, train technicians and other engineers.
Take ownership of one or more electrical systems to operate and maintain all electrical equipment including writing or reviewing switching procedures, coordinating switching activities, etc. to ensure uninterrupted electrical service to the manufacturing site.
Utilize engineering and system knowledge to predict and prevent system disturbances.
Design, engineer, support and implement capital improvement projects as per site specifications and national and local codes.
Develop innovative projects focused on energy conservation:
a. Perform cost/benefit analysis
b. Develop necessary resource requirements if approved. (i.e. labor, material, controls, software)
c. Coordinate installation and commissioning
Understand the National Electric Code, building codes and industry electrical standards.
Define electrical system maintenance requirements and procedures.
Interact with the utility for optimal coordination and protection of the distribution system.
Necessary Skills / Attributes
Bachelor's/Master’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years Electrical/I&C design and project experience focused on electrical/process systems in an industrial setting.
Advanced knowledge of industrial engineering principles and/or Electrical Power Systems/Control Systems.
Focus on backup generator controls systems including but not limited to Woodward, Schneider Electric, and Allen-Bradley control systems.
Professional Engineer license or FE/EIT a plus.
Experience working at an industrial manufacturing facility such as a semiconductor manufacturing plant.
Experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis including Pivot Tables, data source linking through VLOOKUP, and simple script creation.
Basic knowledge of the wafer fabrication process.
Ability to analyze large volumes of data, identify issues and provide solutions to closure.
Able to influence up, down, and across the organization to create change.
Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills; recognize 3rd & 4th order effects of a catalyst event.
Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be able to coordinate and communicating technical information to and from all levels of the organization.
A history of “hands-on” approach to problem solving and countermeasure implementation within own areas of responsibility.
Proactive and self-driven approach to overcome challenges and achieve results.
