Philips Electrical Engineer Technician – EMC/RF in Andover, Massachusetts
Electrical Engineer Technician for the Andover Standards and Reliability Center (ASRC) focused on EMC testing and test fixture building for Medical Products.
This is a key and critical role within the ASRC Group at Philips Healthcare in Andover, MA. This is an opportunity to be part of a well-seasoned winning team that performs EMC testing for all medical product lines within Philips Andover. The EMC team is small in size but plays very important roles in ensuring products designed by Philips are of the highest quality. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
To support/develop test plans and execute EMC testing on various product lines.
Execute tests under the direction of the EMC project engineer and write formal test reports.
Work with other engineers in developing custom test fixtures for the advanced development projects.
Lead/ support department development projects to improve productivity (e.g. New equipment, better tools, etc)
Support existing products. Investigate and help determine root cause of product issues found in R&D, manufacturing or the field. Use test equipment to analyze and resolve issues.
Facilitate and maintain constant communications with project engineers/ manager.
Perform Verification and Validation tests for new designs.
ASEE (or ASET) with 5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering/ product compliance testing.
In-depth knowledge of EMC testing
Highly passionate and positive infectious attitude who strives for high performance, product quality, and with attention to details
Solid fundamentals in electrical engineering circuit concepts and electrical test equipment.
Solid experience with FDA/IEC (IEC 60601-1 Safety standard) regulated medical devices is preferred as they apply to Medical and Wireless devices.
The ability to work well in a team and possessing the skills and the ability to work independently to get things done efficiently and timely.
Demonstrated competence in methodical and effective troubleshooting. Excellent problem solving skills (root cause analysis).
Strong detailed focused and ability to write thorough, accurate documentation of test results, test procedures, test forms and quality management system records.
Working knowledge of EMI reduction techniques preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Excellent English skills, written and speaking.
Orcad: Schematic Capture and Cadence Allegro Layout a plus
Proficient in standard office computer tools: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
